RE: Renting an RV for a family vacation

Betty, also check out El Monte Rv rentals. We rented a Class C from them a few years ago and really enjoyed the experience. Here is the link. http://www.elmonterv.com Good luck and good camping.

RE: Good outdoor non-fiction books??

Try "Into the Wild", also by John Krakauer. A good book and a good movie about a young man trying to find his way in life. Another good read is "Isaac's Storm", the story of the deadly hurricane that hit Galveston,TX.

RE: only 43 more days

My DW and I saw Bruce at the AA Center in Dallas in April. A mix of old and new, he kept the joint jumping for a good two hours. After a 15 min. break, he and the band came back for a 1 hour encore. It was the best show I've seen. It was a non-stop, stand-up, sing-along rock and roll Bruce-fest. The icing on the cake was when Jon Bon-Jovi came out and belted out "Glory Days" with Bruce. Have fun and enjoy Bruce and the Band. You will get your money's worth. Steven

RE: New Lawn Mower

I have had a JD JS61 mower for about four years now. It has been a good mower, but you pay alot extra for that JD green and yellow. Parts are expensive as well. I do have a Briggs and Stratton engine, and it has ran well for me. Bottom line. Good mower, but not better that any of the rest. When I need to buy again, I am going to look at Snapper. My neighbor has used the same Snapper mower for years. Steven

RE: Monitoring transmission temp

I'm looking for a transmission temp gauge as well. After looking at the Scangauge II, I did not see any reference to the transmission temp on the website. Am I missing something?

RE: what TV is oulling your 27BH

I pull my 27BH with the truck in my sig, a 2002 F250 CC 5.4l gasser. Adequate on the flats, struggles in the hills. We went to Colorado last summer and I spent way too much time in second gear for my comfort level. Good stable platform, but underpowered in the hills.

RE: AA 757 Landing on short runway

Just a few facts about the AA 757 video The airport in the video is at Tegucigalpa in Honduras. The runway is 6,132 feet long with a displaced thresholdof 696 feet, allowing 5436 feet of runway available for landing. It also has a downslope of 1 degree and a cliff 100 feet from the far end of the runway. You don't want to land long or land on an excessively wet runway. BTW, he landed exactly where he was supposed to. Just another day at the office.

RE: Low Point Drain Valves

Thanks for all the replies. LEC, I was under the impression I needed to pull the clips to release the plugs. I will do what you suggested next time, and just pull the plugs up without pullling the clips out. I learn something every day from this forum.

Low Point Drain Valves

As I sit here thinking about de-winterizing shortly, I would like to know if anyone has replaced their low-point drain valves with something more user friendly. I have to empty my storage under my bunk bed, crawl into the storage area with a flashlight and a pair or needle nose pliers, and pull the clips and plugs to drain the water lines. Reassembling the clips and plugs into the valves is not that big a problem, but a simple on/off valve would be easier. If anyone has made this modification, chime in. I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks, Steven
